What's a diet?
I just looked up the term "diet" in the dictionary, and here is one of the definitions:
di·et1 a particular selection of food, esp. as designed or prescribed to improve a person's physical condition.
Here is a more accurate version:
di·et1 a particular selection of food, esp. as designed or prescribed to improve a person's physical condition for those who don't want to get up off their asses to get in shape the healthy/natural way.
Seriously. These "fad diets" have gotten out of control. As soon as one goes off whatever "fad diet" they are religiously adhering to, the weight comes back. Losing weight / getting in shape is a state of mind - a religion, if you will.
Here is the wrong way and the right way to get the correct mind set about getting in shape:
Wrong way: "I can't have ice cream, I'm on a diet"
Right way: "I can't have ice cream because I am not willing to exercise off the calories I will be taking in from the increased intake of sugar and fat"
Thoughts?
